The humble bacon sarnie, the icon of British cuisine.
You can’t get it wrong. Or can you?
We have taken to the (metaphorical) streets to find out what the nation’s favourite bacon sandwich is, in our bid to perfect it. Gathering research from Bacon fans up and down the country.
Bread or toast? Streaky or back? Ketchup, brown sauce or… (can you believe it?) mayo!
Let’s take a little peak into some surprising stats from our research:
27% of Londoners like to have MAYO in their Bacon Sandwich… Statistically true, emotionally difficult.
41% of people who live in Brighton like to air fry their bacon AND 21% of people microwave their bacon… Microwaving or air frying, what’s wrong with the grill?
People who live in York and Edinburgh prefer using a bread roll over soft white bread for their Sarnies!
Belfast is the city that is most likely to use brown sauce over ketchup, which side are you on?
From our nationwide research we have uncovered that the UK’s FAVOURITE Bacon sandwich is as follows:
- 2 rashers of Smoked Back Bacon
- Cooked slightly crispy under the grill
- Soft white bread
- With tomato ketchup
