Our story so far…

Three brothers, one mission: to make jolly good food

For as long as we can remember, we’ve done everything together. Living together, working together. Playing rugby, treading the boards, getting up to no good. One big family, larger than life, and twice as hairy. So we started a business together doing the one thing you can tell we always agreed on. Food.

Olly

Biggest Brother: Ex rugby player for Harlequins, top taster, loves smoking and curing meat.

Max

Middle Brother: Ex ship broker, numbers guy, bossy, also loves cheese.

Josh

Littlest Brother: Ex cabinet maker, operations, chief sausage maker, vans, flames, long days.

2007

Following an injury playing professional rugby, Olly is given a sausage maker by his wife for his birthday. He starts making sausages in his flat and swiftly after, starts selling them in the car park at Twickenham Stoop Stadium. Little did Olly, Max & Josh know they were starting something that would become much bigger…

2008

Our first day of trade in Twickenham Stoop.

The brothers started out with a small stand behind the stadium at Twickenham Stoop in the car park. They made £500 on their first day and were jumping for joy at the success they’d had. That was until they realised it cost them £700 to be there, oops!

2015

After several years of selling sausages at festivals, the brothers open a restaurant, Pigsty, in Bristol. Pigsty is famous for it’s smokey hot dogs, whole hog baps, pulled pork & much more! Check out our Pigsty page for more information on menus and how to book.

2017

We get our first listing in retail for our sausages… followed very quickly by bacon. You can now find our products in most of the major retailers all across the UK – and we’ve expanded our range into other exciting categories such as slow cooked, snacking & ham.

2022

Our focus on doing business with responsibility is recognised as we become a B-Corp. We were chuffed to be the first UK meat business to receive this certification! Check out our welfare page for more information on what a B-Corp means.

2025

We now have over 25 of The Jolly Hog products in UK supermarkets! Our team have been busy working on even more exciting new products, so always keep your eyes peeled for new launches…
